LUCYHONEYCHURCH – Sofie Hein
Sofie Hein, is known as a Composer, Bassist, Programmer, and Singer of the Berlin guitar pop duo Wagner & Pohl, and has worked for years as a musician and creative partner with Lucian Busse on Alien TV shows, short-fillms, and video clips. With her solo project, Lucyhoneychurch, she composed and produced the soundtrack for “Berlinized-Sexy an Eis”.
The album, Berlinized – longing and belonging, was released on vinyl alongside the film’s premiere in April 2012, with six titles from the filmscore. (Staatsakt/Rough Trade/ Motor Music)
Industrial sounds and scratchy 90’s guitars provided the inspiration for the noises and vocals in the title track . With field recordings of forgotten scrapyards, Lucyhoneychurch generated an array of electronic samples, from uncompromising beats to harmonious tones, and the resulting tracks run the gamut from clubby and poppy, atmospheric to brutal.
Lucyhoneychurch’s live performances are underscored by impressive visuals in the Alien TV style, in appearances both solo and accompanied by various Berliner musicians, such as Andrew Unruh/ percussionist of Einstuerzende Neubauten, or Barbara Wagner/ Britta, and Sebastian Vogel / Kante.

Sofie Hein ist bekannt als Komponistin, Bassistin, Programmiererin und Sängerin des Berliner Gitarrenpop Duos Wagner & Pohl.Mit ihrem Soloprojekt Lucyhoneychurch hat sie den Soundtrack für die Dokumentation „Berlinized – Sexy an Eis“von Lucian Busse produziert. Der Film zeigt die Szene der Hinterhofkreativen und illegalen Bars nach dem Mauerfall in Berlin Mitte.
Zur Premiere erschien das Album Berlinized – longing and belonging auf Vinyl mit sechs Titeln aus dem Filmscores darunter ein Remix des Schweizer Musikers und Radio-Djs Oliver Peter. Geräusche und Stimmungen der Soundtrack-Titel sind inspiriert durch Industrialklänge und krachige Gitarren der 90er Jahre. Aus Soundaufnahmen von vergessenen Schrottplätzen generierte Lucyhoneychurch verschiedenste elektronische Samples, von kompromisslosen Beats bis zu harmonischen Klängen. Die abwechslungsreichen Tracks sind clubbig, poppig, sphärisch und brachial.
